What a bizarre book! This disappearance announced the end of the author’s childhood, who continued to hold a marked nostalgia for this period.

I was left stunned. Typical to Modiano’s style, a brisk and easy but very entertaining read. First we learn of the Khedive, then we hear of the Lieutenant. I really liked this book. Published October 1st by Gallimard Education first published Write for Vague Visages.
