It has often been a theme in books by my favorite author, Mary Balogh, and she is the mark by which I measure all other authors. Where Nicholas is lively and open-hearted, Ethan is burrowds where Nicholas loves, he shows it, while Ethan does not. Grace Burrowes has upped her game with Ethan, giving the reader an intriguing plot with surprising twists populated by fully-developed, complex characters.
She too has had a traumatic experience in her early teens that has marked her emotionally and physically.
The supporting characters are delightful and eyhan are recognizable from other Grace Burrowes books. I am making it my mission to read books from each author I met at a recent book signing. There are at least six more books planned in this series and several of the characters birrowes an appearance in this book.

This is a story of two people carrying heavy burdens of guilt and who find in each other the key to their happiness.
